Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that removes the top layers of your skin. The procedure aims to remove fine wrinkles and deep acne scarring, as well as make the skin's surface look smooth. Dermaplaning is safe for most people, with little risk of side effects when it's performed by a certified esthetician.
There is no pain associated with dermaplaning, most people find it relaxing. It is a non-invasive treatment and only the dead skin cells on the surface will be removed. Since products will penetrate more easily, we recommend using caution when applying aggressive skin care serums at home for a few days to avoid any irritation.
There is no downtime after dermplaning, and you can return to work the same day. We highly recommend a dermaplaning facial before a big event such as a wedding or a reunion due to the smoothing and rejuvenating appearance it produces.
If you suffer from acne and an over production of the sebaceous gland, we do not recommend dermaplaning. For acne prone skin, we recommend Chemical Peels, which is another form of exfoliation and will clear and balance the skin to control sebaceous activity and decrease the formation of acne lesions.
